The NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety syllabus is designed for managers, supervisors and employees, who have day to day responsibility for managing workplace health and safety responsibilities in the oil and gas industries, both onshore and offshore throughout the world. It also highlights the importance of process safety management.
No formal qualifications are required but candidates must have a reasonable standard of written English.
Students should already have an underpinning knowledge of safety issues. The qualification builds on an understanding already gained by a qualification such as the NEBOSH National or International General Certificate.
The syllabus focuses on hydrocarbon process safety and is intended to enable candidates to apply and implement effective process safety management across all areas of their operation. Key topics covered include:
- Health safety and environmental management in context
- Hydrocarbon process safety
- Fire protection and emergency response
- Logistics and transport operations
